Actia Psa Xs Evolution Drivers

Overview

The ACTIA PSA XS Evolution driver package is a collection of software components, firmware interfaces, and troubleshooting guidance used with ACTIA’s diagnostic and programming tools for PSA Group (Peugeot, Citroën, now part of Stellantis) vehicles. It provides the communication layer between a PC-based diagnostic application and vehicle ECUs that use PSA-specific network protocols and wiring harnesses. A rich discourse about it covers purpose, components, supported hardware/vehicles, installation and compatibility concerns, technical details of protocols and drivers, common issues and fixes, safety and legal considerations, and maintenance/updates.

Driver 3: ADAS and Calibration Requirements

One of the most significant recent drivers for the XS evolution is Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) . Vehicles with cameras, radars, and ultrasonic sensors require post-repair calibration (e.g., after a windshield or bumper replacement). actia psa xs evolution drivers

  • Hardware Expansion: The basic XS interface lacked the processing power for ADAS targets. Evolution drivers now integrate with external cameras and laser tools, requiring Actia to develop driver modules that synchronize live sensor data with calibration patterns.
  • Live Data Streaming: Older drivers polled data at 1-2 Hz. Modern evolution drivers support high-speed streaming (20+ Hz) to observe radar and camera fusion in real-time.

Phase 1: Preparation

  1. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement (Windows 10/11 only): For unsigned or modified clone drivers, restart your PC while holding Shift, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart, then press 7 (Disable driver signature enforcement).
  2. Uninstall old drivers: Open Device Manager. If you see any greyed-out or error-flagged Actia entries, right-click > Uninstall device and check "Delete driver software for this device."

Known issues & fixes

  • Windows 10/11 may auto-install an incorrect driver (USB Serial Converter). You must manually force update to FTDI FT2xx driver.
  • LED behavior on the XS Evolution box:
    • Green LED = USB power OK
    • Flashing orange/red = driver issue or no communication

Phase 4: Post-Installation Configuration

After installation, you must set the correct COM port parameters for DiagBox: Overview The ACTIA PSA XS Evolution driver package

  1. Right-click the USB Serial Port (COMx) > Properties.
  2. Port Settings tab:
    • Bits per second: 115200 (not 9600; DiagBox requires high speed)
    • Data bits: 8
    • Parity: None
    • Stop bits: 1
    • Flow control: None
  3. Click Advanced:
    • Latency Timer: Change from 16 ms to 1 ms (critical for avoiding communication timeouts with BSI and engine ECUs).
    • COM Port Number: Change to COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4 only. DiagBox cannot see ports higher than COM4 on older versions. Use COM1 if available.
