Aomei Image | Deploy Technician

AOMEI Image Deploy Technician is a professional-grade network deployment and cloning software designed for IT administrators and service providers to roll out operating systems across multiple computers simultaneously. Unlike the free edition, the Technician version is optimized for large-scale enterprise environments and offers advanced automation features to minimize manual setup. Key Features & Capabilities

Simultaneous Mass Deployment: Deploys a single system or disk image to hundreds of PCs and servers at once over a Local Area Network (LAN).

Universal Restore (Dissimilar Hardware Support): A standout feature that allows you to deploy a system image to computers with different hardware (CPUs, motherboards) while ensuring they boot correctly after restoration.

Batch Preset Configuration: Allows administrators to pre-set unique computer names and IP addresses for each client machine, preventing network conflicts after the rollout. aomei image deploy technician

Centralized Real-Time Monitoring: Provides a management console that displays the real-time progress (in percentage) and status of every client computer in the deployment batch.

PXE Network Booting: Uses PXE (Preboot Execution Environment) to boot client machines via the network, eliminating the need for individual bootable USB drives or CDs for each computer. Edition Comparison

3. How It Works: The Workflow

The deployment process is streamlined into three distinct steps:

  1. Create the Master Image:

    • Install the OS, drivers, applications, and necessary configurations on a "master" computer.
    • Use AOMEI Backupper (included or integrated) to create a system image file (usually saved to a network share or external drive).
  2. Set Up the Deployment Environment:

    • Install AOMEI Image Deploy on a server or technician’s laptop.
    • Start the service. The software acts as a DHCP/TFTP server (or uses an existing one) to listen for incoming connections.
  3. Boot & Deploy:

    • Boot the target computers from the network (PXE boot).
    • Once the clients are detected in the AOMEI interface, select the master image and click "Start Deploy."

Limitations & Considerations

What is AOMEI Image Deploy Technician?

AOMEI Image Deploy Technician is a network-based imaging and deployment tool that lets you create a master Windows system image (including OS, applications, drivers, and settings) and deploy that image simultaneously to multiple target machines over LAN. It supports both unattended and interactive deployment, making it suitable for bulk provisioning, lab setups, rapid disaster recovery, and standardized rollouts.

2. Linux Deployment

You are not restricted to Windows. You can capture an image of an Ubuntu or CentOS installation. During deployment, avoid "Universal Restore" (as that is for Windows drivers) and simply deploy the ext4 partition as a raw copy. making it suitable for bulk provisioning
