Part 6: The Corridor (3D Modeling)

Step 5: Creating and Editing Profiles and Cross Sections
- Create a new profile by selecting "Home" > "Create Profile".
- Create a new cross section by selecting "Home" > "Create Cross Section".
- Edit the profile and cross section properties.
Building the Road
- Ribbon: Home Tab > Create Design Panel > Corridor.
- Name: "Road A."
- Alignment: Centerline A.
- Profile: Layout Profile (the red one you made).
- Assembly: (Click the browse button
...). An Assembly is the cross-section template (e.g., Lane + Curb + Sidewalk).
Note: If you don't have an Assembly:
- Go to the Tool Palettes (
Ctrl+3).
- Find a "Basic Lane" assembly.
- Drag it into an empty area of your drawing.
- Targets: Click the "..." button.
- Set "Surface Target" to your "EG" Surface (so the road knows to grade to the ground).
- Click OK.
