Working on the v0.10.0.1 branch of BeamNG.drive — progress summary, current tasks, and requests for testing.

  • Target candidate build for wider QA: within 72 hours, pending crash fixes.

The Fix: Step-by-Step Guide to Making BeamNG.drive v0.10.01 Work

Do not delete that archive yet. Follow this surgical strike guide to resurrect the ancient build.

Step 2: The "Redist" Rescue

Inside your BeamNG.drive v0.10.01 folder, look for a subfolder usually named _CommonRedist or directly Redist. beamngdrive v01001 work

  1. Navigate to BeamNG.drive > Redist > DirectX.
  2. Run DXSETUP.exe. Even if you have DirectX 12, this installs legacy DirectX 9 and 11 components v0.10.01 relies on.
  3. Navigate to Redist > vcredist.
  4. Run vcredist_x64.exe (even if you did Step 1, run the version in the game folder).

Method 2: Archive & Repack Sites (Higher Risk)

If you do not own the game, you will find “v01001” on abandonware or archive sites. Warning: These files are often bundled with malware.

To make a downloaded repack work:

  1. Disable Windows Defender (temporarily – repacks often have false positives).
  2. Run as Administrator – Older versions require write access to Program Files if installed there.
  3. Install required redistributables: The _CommonRedist folder contains DirectX, VCRedist (2015), and .NET Framework 3.5. Install all of them.
  4. Block the game in Firewall – Open Windows Defender Firewall > Advanced Settings > Outbound Rules > New Rule > Program > Block > Select BeamNG.drive.exe`.

Chapter 4: A Proper Send-Off

The player reached the famous jump spot on the WCUSA map. The Bluebuck, with its fresh soft-body physics, was about to be tested to its limit.

Speed built up. 80 mph. 100 mph. The RoCam tilted upward as the nose of the heavy sedan lifted off the ramp. Post: BeamNG

For a moment, the Bluebuck flew, suspended in a perfect arc of slow-motion physics. Then, impact.

In the older versions of the game, heavy cars sometimes felt like they weighed nothing, crumpling like paper. But the v0.10.0.1 structural updates ensured the Bluebuck had density. It hit the ground with a deafening crunch, the front suspension collapsing, the hood buckling in a chaotic, beautiful mess of steel and glass. The headlights popped out, the bumper dragged on the ground, and steam hissed from the radiator. Internal regression run: next 48 hours

It was a masterpiece of destruction.
