To add realism to your SketchUp models, perfectly sharp 90-degree edges must be avoided, as real-world objects always have some degree of roundedness or "bevel." While SketchUp's native tools can be tedious for this task, several plugins automate the process.
Below is a guide to the most effective bevel and rounding extensions, including free options and trial-based professional tools. 1. Top Free & Professional Bevel Plugins RoundCorner by Fredo6 (Highly Recommended)
This is widely considered the "gold standard" for rounding edges in SketchUp. It allows you to select multiple edges and apply a rounded, sharp, or beveled profile with a specific radius and segment count.
Key Features: Rounds corners of any radius, works on complex geometry, and includes "donatationware" licensing.
Requirements: You must also install LibFredo6 (a shared library for Fredo6's tools) for it to function.
Download: Available for free on the SketchUcation Plugin Store. Bevel by MindSight Studios bevel plugin sketchup free download

In the world of 3D modeling, sharp edges are a silent giveaway that a design is digital rather than real. To fix this, SketchUp users often turn to beveling—the art of rounding or angling edges to catch the light properly. While you can manually create these using the Follow Me tool by drawing a profile and sweeping it along an edge, most professionals prefer the speed and precision of dedicated plugins.
If you are looking to download a beveling tool, here are the primary paths you can take: The Free & Classic Choice: RoundCorner
For years, the go-to "free" option has been RoundCorner by developer Fredo6. It offers three distinct modes: Round Corners, Sharp Corners, and Bevel. To add realism to your SketchUp models, perfectly
Where to find it: You can download it from the SketchUcation Plugin Store.
Key Requirement: To make it work, you must also download and install the LibFredo6 shared library.
Registration: Downloading from SketchUcation requires a free account registration. The Powerful Successor: FredoCorner
Fredo6 later released FredoCorner, which uses an improved algorithm to handle more complex geometry and provides more "live" control over your bevels. How to Create Rounded or Beveled Edges and Corners
Solution: Increase the number of segments in the RoundCorner dialog. Go to the "Advanced" tab and set "Number of segments" to 12 or 16. For 3D printing, 8 is fine. For rendering, use 20+. Problem 2: Bevel looks faceted / not smooth

If you want your renders to look realistic, you need to break those edges. I just updated my workflow with this Bevel Plugin for SketchUp (Free Download available via Extension Warehouse).
⚡ What it does: • Instant fillets & chamfers. • Handles rounded corners on complex shapes. • Saves HOURS of manual editing.
