Black Copper POS P80 Driver Setup (v7.17)

Issue 3: Black Copper Specific - Overheating / Slowdown

  • Cause: The "Black Copper" variant has a high-speed motor. V7.17 defaults to 90mm/sec, but Black Copper can handle 250mm/sec.
  • Fix: In Device Settings, under "Print Density," ensure you are using "High Speed Mode" . Set temperature control to 130°C (the copper heatsink dissipates heat faster).

1. Connect the Printer

  • Plug in the printer via USB or network.
  • Turn it on.
  • If using USB, Windows may auto-detect as “Unknown device” – that’s fine.

Step 3.2 – Install via Device Manager

  1. Connect P80 to PC (device powered off)
  2. Open Device Manager → Look for “Unknown Device” or “Eleaf P80”
  3. Right-click → Update driverBrowse my computer
  4. Select the usb_drivers/ folder from POS package
  5. Click Next → Accept warning if shown

Success: Device appears as “WinUSB Device” or “libusb-win32 device”
