Chuck E. Cheese Team Member Handbook: Where a Kid Can Be a Kid
Welcome to the Team!
You are now part of something bigger than pizza and games. You are a Memory Maker. Every high-five, every perfectly baked pepperoni pizza, and every fixed Skee-Ball machine contributes to a child’s magical moment.
This handbook outlines our expectations, policies, and culture. Read it carefully, sign the last page, and return it to your General Manager (GM). chuck e cheese employee handbook
E. Safety & Emergency Procedures
- Injury reporting: Any cut, burn (from pizza oven), or slip (from spilled soda) must be logged within 1 hour.
- Animatronic & game safety: Daily checklist for pinch points, exposed wires, and loud volume levels (kept under 85 dB for children's hearing).
- Weather protocol: Move guests from outdoor trampoline areas (if applicable) indoors during lightning.
B. Code of Conduct
- Attendance: Strict punctuality for party reservations. Tardiness during a booked birthday party is grounds for immediate write-up.
- Appearance: Uniform includes branded polo, nametag, non-slip shoes, and no visible facial piercings (except small studs). Costume characters (Chuck E., Helen, Mr. Munch) have separate hygiene rules (no makeup transfer).
- Phone use: Prohibited on the game floor or while handling children/food.
Birthday Party Host
- Arrive 20 minutes before party start.
- Lead the “Birthday Show” with Chuck E. exactly on schedule (±2 min).
- If Chuck E. costume performer is late, play pre-recorded birthday song and offer a free game card — never impersonate the character.
Kitchen (Pizza & Prep)
- Wash hands every 30 minutes and after touching anything non-food.
- Timer discipline: Every pizza uses a timer. No "eyeballing."
- Allergy awareness: Use separate cutters for gluten-free crust.
- No cell phones in BOH (Back of House).
