How the CITPL Berthing Schedule Works

Unlike smaller ports, CITPL follows a "First-Come, First-Served" principle with priority classifications. Here is the typical hierarchy: Previous backlog (vessels that missed the previous tide)

  1. Previous backlog (vessels that missed the previous tide).
  2. Vessels with "firm" nominations (confirmed cargo and customs clearance).
  3. Vessels requiring tidal berthing (larger Capesize vessels that need high tide to enter).
  4. General queue (Handymax and Panamax vessels).

Where to Find the Real-Time Schedule

CITPL does not publish its dynamic schedule on a public billboard. You need access to the Port Community System (PCS 1x) of the Indian Ports Association (IPA) or the proprietary dashboards of local port agents.

The most reliable sources are:

  1. Paradip Port’s Vessel Traffic System (VTS): The port authority publishes a daily "Vessel Position List."
  2. Your Clearing & Forwarding (C&F) Agent: Agents at Paradip receive a "Provisional Berthing Order" issued by the Deputy Conservator (Marine).
  3. JSW/CITPL Customer Portal: Large regular customers (like power plants) have direct API access to the terminal’s ERP.

KPIs to track

What is CITPL?

CITPL stands for Clean Islands Terminals Private Limited. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the JSW Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates.

CITPL operates a mechanized coal handling terminal inside Paradip Port (Paradip Port Authority – PPA), Odisha. This is a high-volume, dedicated terminal designed specifically for the import of thermal coal (primarily for power plants) and coking coal (for steel manufacturing).
