Season 1 asked: Can a sociopath serve society? Season 2 asks: What happens when that society tries to catch him? The underwater graveyard is a powerful visual metaphor for Dexter’s repressed past literally rising to the surface. Unlike the cat-and-mouse game with Brian, this threat is faceless, systemic, and inescapable—the entire apparatus of law enforcement, media, and public opinion.

"Está Vivo" establece inmediatamente lo que muchos críticos consideran la mejor temporada de Dexter. Al hacer público el secreto de Dexter (al menos para el mundo), la serie evita el estancamiento. 2.2. El descubrimiento de la Bahía: El fin de la invisibilidad

El hallazgo de los cuerpos es el catalizador que define el arco de la temporada. Hasta ahora, Dexter creía que su metodología lo hacía invisible. El descubrimiento de la Bahía de Biscayne transforma a Dexter de cazador a presa potencial. Este evento fuerza a la unidad policial (y a la recién llegada agente del FBI, Frank Lundy) a mirar hacia adentro, creando una tensión paranoica en la sala de reuniones. Dexter se da cuenta de que su "contenedor" (la bahía) ha sido su mayor error logístico.
