To download and install ESET PROTECT Entry, follow the steps below.

Note: "ESET PROTECT Entry" is the new name for what was previously known as ESET Remote Administrator (ERA). It is used for managing ESET endpoint products on a network. download eset protect entry install

Phase 3: Initial Configuration & Login

Open the Web Console: Open a web browser on the server (or a computer on the same network). Navigate to: https://localhost/era or https://<Server_IP_Address>/era. (Note: You may receive a security warning because the certificate is self-signed. Click "Advanced" and proceed/accept the risk).
Login:
- Username: Administrator
- Password: Enter the password you created during the installation setup.
Activate: Once logged in, you may see an activation prompt. If you have a license key, enter it here. If you are using the free 5-seat version, you may need to follow the on-screen prompts to register for a free license file.

2. Installation – What Goes Right

Clean installer – No adware, toolbars, or third-party offers.
All-in-one setup option installs:
- Web console (NGINX + Tomcat)
- Database (built-in or external)
- Agent + Server components
Typical install time: ~10–15 minutes on decent hardware.
Automatic port checks – Warns if 80/443/2222/etc. are in use.

Step 1 — Download ESET PROTECT Entry installer

Sign in to your ESET Business Account or ESET Business Portal using your business/trial credentials.
Navigate to the “Downloads” or “Products” section and locate “ESET PROTECT” or “ESET PROTECT Entry.”
Download the appropriate installer for your server OS (Windows or Linux). Choose the full installer that includes the management server and console, unless you already have separate DB/service requirements.

3. Install the Agent on Endpoints (Deployment)

You have the console—now you need endpoints to manage it. The ESET Management Agent is the bridge between your server and each device. Open the Web Console: Open a web browser

Required Ports

Ensure these ports are open in your firewall:

2222/2223 – Agent to Server communication.
443/8443 – Web Console access.
5671/5672 – AMQP (Messaging).

1. Update mirror

Configure a local update mirror so endpoints download virus signature updates from your ESET PROTECT server rather than the public internet. This saves bandwidth.
