A.J. Hoge’s methodology isn't magic; it's science. The core of his pronunciation training usually revolves around "Pronunciation Pairs" and the "Shadowing" technique.
Most traditional courses teach you to read English. The Effortless method teaches you to hear English. free download resources exist. However
If you download a pirate copy of a course, you have the audio. But do you have the instructions on how to practice? Do you know the physical mouth mechanics? That is usually what is missing from a "free download."
Never look at a written word before you hear it. Writing corrupts pronunciation. (For example, "colonel" looks nothing like "kernel.") The best courses hide the text until after you speak.
You do not need to spend $500 on a fancy program. High-quality, free download resources exist. However, be careful: many "free" downloads are illegal uploads of old CDs. Instead, look for legally free courses created by teachers who believe in accessible education.
