Flashtool V0291 13 ((hot)) Link

A Technical Overview and User Guide: FlashTool v0.2.9.1 (Build 13)

Common errors and fixes

  • “USB Device Not Found” / “Loading driver failed”: reinstall correct VCOM/ADB/fastboot drivers, try different USB ports/cables, ensure device is powered off when required.
  • Stuck at 0% or freezes: try different driver versions, change USB cable/port, disable drivers signature enforcement (Windows), or try another PC.
  • “Checksum error” or corrupted files: re-download firmware and verify checksums.
  • Bootloop after flash: reflash missing partitions (boot/recovery), or perform a factory reset in recovery if available.
  • Driver conflicts with other phone suites: fully uninstall other manufacturer suites or conflicting drivers.

5.3 Firmware Upgrade (for major version changes)

  • Use this when changing Android versions or if the device does not boot after a standard download.
  • Select Firmware Upgrade instead of Download.
  • Warning: This will rewrite the partition table and may permanently brick the device if the wrong scatter file is used.

Hardware & OS

  • Operating System: Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit) is ideal. Windows 10/11 works but requires disabling driver signature enforcement (Shift + Restart -> Disable Driver Signing).
  • USB Cable: A high-quality data sync cable (no cheap charge-only cables).
  • USB Port: Use a USB 2.0 port directly on the motherboard. USB 3.0 ports often cause handshake failures with this old tool.

3.4 Required Files

  • Scatter file (device-specific).
  • Download Agent – usually MTK_AllInOne_DA_v2.9.1.bin (included).
  • Stock ROM (unpacked images: preloader.bin, boot.img, system.img, etc.).

Step‑by‑step flash (generalized)

Note: UI/labels vary slightly by FlashTool builds. These steps assume a typical scatter-flash workflow.

  1. Install required drivers and FlashTool on your PC; run as Administrator.
  2. Click “Scatter-loading” or equivalent and select the scatter file from the extracted firmware.
  3. Confirm mapped partitions and the target files; uncheck any partitions you don’t want overwritten (e.g., userdata if you want to keep data — not recommended unless instructed).
  4. Choose the flashing mode:
    • “Download Only” — writes selected partitions, preserves others.
    • “Firmware Upgrade” — replaces existing firmware, useful across different firmware versions.
    • “Format All + Download” — full wipe then flash; use only when necessary.
  5. Click the Start/Download button.
  6. Power off the device (remove battery if removable) and connect to PC via USB while pressing required key combo if specified by the device (often none; tool waits for device connection).
  7. Wait for tool to detect device and begin flashing. Do not disconnect cable or interrupt the process.
  8. When flashing finishes you should see a success/passed dialog; disconnect device and power on.

Step 1: Download and Extract

  • Download SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1320.00.00.zip (the internal version v0291 13).
  • Extract it to a folder like C:\FlashTool\v0291_13. Do not use spaces or special characters in the path.
  • Inside, you will find: flash_tool.exe, MTK_AllInOne_DA.bin, BROM_DLL.dll, and folders for logo, scatter, etc.
