Grand Theft Auto V Gta 5 -v1.0.1180.1 1.41 ... ((install)) -

Overall Verdict: The "Modder's Goldilocks Zone"

If you are playing vanilla GTA V on a modern PC in 2025, you should update to the latest version. However, if you are seeking this specific 1.41 build (circa late 2017/early 2018), it is almost certainly for one reason: modding, Script Hook V, and legacy OpenIV support.

Rating: 8/10 (as a legacy/modding platform) | 5/10 (as a current live game)

Step 4: Mod Folder Structure

Create a mods folder inside your GTA V directory using OpenIV. Copy update.rpf, x64.rpf, and common.rpf into the mods folder. Never modify the original files. Install vehicle mods, scripts, and graphics mods exclusively inside the mods folder. Grand Theft Auto V GTA 5 -v1.0.1180.1 1.41 ...

What is Missing?

Unlike modern versions (v1.0.2845.0+), this build does not include:

The Bad (Why you are missing out)

  1. No Online: This is the biggest caveat. Version 1.41 is pre-Diamond Casino, pre-Cayo Perico, pre-Oppressor MKII nerfs, pre-everything. Grand Theft Auto Online is essentially a different game now. You cannot connect to modern servers with this version.
  2. Missing Quality of Life: Later updates added simple things like the ability to return personal vehicles to storage, quick-spawn aircraft, and improved anti-griefing tools. You have none of that.
  3. Graphical Features: You lack the ray-traced reflections, improved ambient occlusion, and higher-res texture filtering found in the 2022+ versions.
  4. The "Ghost" Cars: A weird bug in this specific build where traffic spawning on highways can sometimes feel empty or repetitive. Mods fix this, but vanilla 1.41 has odd traffic logic.
