I1profiler 3.1.1 — Explanatory Treatise

Common Issues and Troubleshooting in Version 3.1.1

Even a stable build has quirks. Here is how to solve the most frequent user complaints regarding i1Profiler 3.1.1.

Issue 3: macOS "Unidentified Developer" warning.

Fix: Right-click (or Ctrl-click) the i1Profiler app icon and select "Open." Then click "Open" in the confirmation dialog. You only need to do this once. I1profiler 3.1.1

7. Workflow integration

  • Preflight steps: Calibrate instruments, warm up displays/printers, stabilize media and inks, set target luminance and white point.
  • Profile creation: Measure targets, compute TRCs and LUTs, choose rendering intents and gamut-mapping parameters, and export ICC profiles.
  • Application use: Embed or assign profiles in authoring applications, convert images between color spaces as needed, use soft-proofing to simulate target output.
  • Versioning and archival: Tag profiles with creation metadata and link to measurement datasets for traceability.

2. Printer settings before printing the chart

  • Turn off color management in your printer driver:
    • Set Color ModeOff (No Color Management) or Driver ICM → None
    • Choose the correct paper type, quality (highest), and ICC profile (usually "Printer Managed" or "None")
  • Print the chart using a color-managed application like Photoshop or i1Profiler’s own print dialog (not a quick-print from a browser).
  • Ensure no scaling and no borderless unless your chart is designed for it.
