For five consecutive years (2006–2010), the event grew. What started with 12 women ended with over 300 participants. Deeann Donovan became the reluctant queen of the movement. She sold no merchandise, took no sponsors, and accepted no money. "The Spectacular," she wrote on a napkin that was later laminated and passed around the expo, "is about remembering that your body is a playground, not just a prison of pace."
