Lenel Lnl-3300-m5 — Installation Manual Upd ((exclusive))
Lenel LNL-3300-M5 Installation Manual — Concise Guide
Input/Output Devices
- Monitor door contacts, REX (Request to Exit) devices, and alarms via supervised inputs when possible.
- Connect door locks to relay outputs or dedicated lock drivers; configure fail-safe vs fail-secure per door requirements.
Step 2: Physical Mounting
- Environment: Indoor, dry, pollution degree 1 or 2.
- Enclosure: Must use a UL-listed enclosure (e.g., LNL-ENC1S or Altronix Trove). Do not mount the bare PCB to drywall.
- Clearance: Allow 2 inches (50 mm) on all sides for ventilation.
- Hardware: Use the four standoffs provided. Overtightening screws can crack the board's multi-layer power plane.
Step 1: Unboxing and Inspection
Verify the following components:
- LNL-3300-M5 main board (Green PCB, sized 152mm x 203mm).
- Four nylon standoffs and mounting screws.
- 10-pin reader header cables (if ordered).
- Missing: Power supply (sold separately unless PoE is used).
5. Relay Outputs (Door Strikes/Maglocks)
The two relays (K1 and K2) are configured as "fail-secure" (normally open) or "fail-safe" (normally closed). Lenel Lnl-3300-m5 Installation Manual UPD
- NC (Normally Closed): Energized to lock (maglocks).
- NO (Normally Open): Energized to unlock (strikes). The manual explicitly shows a snubber diode across inductive loads (locks) to prevent voltage spikes from resetting the board.
Grounding
- Connect chassis ground to building earth ground using a dedicated conductor.
- Ground readers and power supplies to common ground to reduce noise and avoid ground loops.
