Even after a successful Motorola CPS R05.16 download, you may hit problems. Here is the fix guide.

Method 2: Windows XP Mode (Best for Windows 11)
Windows 11 is even less tolerant of legacy software. Motorola CPS R05
Download and install Oracle VM VirtualBox (free).
Obtain a Windows XP SP3 ISO (requires a license).
Create a virtual machine with 512MB RAM.
Install Windows XP inside the virtual machine.
Install CPS R05.16 inside the XP VM.
Pass through the USB programming cable to the VM.
Step 4: The Installation Process
Double-click Setup.exe.
Accept the license agreement.
Choose "Typical Installation."
When prompted, allow the installation of Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 (Windows 10/11 will prompt you to enable this feature—click "Download and install this feature").
If you see a "File In Use" or "OCX Registration Failed" error, press Ignore (do not abort). These are typically non-fatal errors for inactive system files.
