Musnad Ahmad 6929 Verified: Authenticity, Text, and Scholarly Analysis

By: Islamic Heritage Research Desk

In the vast ocean of Hadith literature, Musnad Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal stands as a monumental collection, renowned for its comprehensiveness and stringent criteria for inclusion. However, not every narration within this esteemed compilation is automatically classified as Sahih (authentic). For students of knowledge, researchers, and lay Muslims, verifying specific chains of narration (isnad) is critical.

One narration that has recently garnered attention in online scholarly circles and mobile application databases is Musnad Ahmad 6929. musnad ahmad 6929 verified

Is it authentic? Has it been "verified"? This article provides a deep dive into the status of Musnad Ahmad 6929, including its Arabic text, English translation, chain of narrators, and the verdicts of classical and contemporary Muhaddithun (Hadith scholars).

English Translation

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever has intercourse with his slave woman and she becomes pregnant (by him), she becomes an Umm Walad (mother of the child). Her child is freed upon his (the master's) death, and she is entitled to one-third of his inheritance—or something similar." English Translation

2. Verdict of Ahmad Shakir

The late Egyptian scholar Ahmad Shakir (d. 1958), who partially verified the Musnad, graded a parallel narration (under a different number) as "Sahih" . He argued that the criticisms of Ikrimah are overruled by Imam Ahmad’s acceptance of him.
