Step-by-Step Flashing Guide (dload Method for Beginners)

Let’s assume your Nova 5T is stuck on the Huawei logo. Here is the simplest walkthrough.

Preparation:

• Charge your phone to at least 50%.

Execution:

1. On your PC, create a new folder on your desktop named dload. (The name must be lowercase).
2. Open the downloaded firmware archive. Inside, you should see a file named UPDATE.APP. Copy this file into your dload folder.
3. Copy the dload folder to a FAT32 formatted USB drive.
4. Eject the drive and plug it into your Nova 5T via OTG adapter.
5. Turn off the phone. If it is frozen, hold the power button for 15 seconds until it dies.
6. Press Volume Up + Volume Down + Power simultaneously.
7. The phone will boot into EMUI Recovery mode and automatically detect the UPDATE.APP file.
8. The installation will begin. Do not touch any buttons.
9. Once complete (100%), the phone will restart. Set up your device as new.
