Guide: Saint Seiya - The Hades (PS2) — Save Data Full
Step-by-step: Free up space safely
- Identify large or unused saves
- In Browser, note file sizes (blocks). Saves for some games use more blocks than others.
- Back up saves you want to keep
- If you have a USB adapter + PC tool (or a PS2 with a swap trick), copy important saves to a PC or another memory card before deleting.
- If you can’t back up, consider copying critical saves to a different memory card using a friend’s PS2.
- Delete unnecessary files
- Highlight the unwanted save → press Triangle → Delete.
- Confirm and check free blocks again.
- Remove corrupted or hidden files
- Corrupted saves sometimes show as “?” or have odd icons — delete those to recover space.
- Format memory card (last resort)
- If many corrupted files or you want a clean card, reformat: in Browser press Triangle on the memory card icon → Format. This erases everything.
Important caveats
- No English patch integration – The game remains 100% Japanese. A full save won’t translate menus, but it does let you bypass story progression.
- Save corruption risk – Always back up your original save before importing. Some “full” saves from unknown sources may be modified with cheat codes (infinite cosmos, all chars) that can freeze the game during Hypnos’s intro.
- Emulator save states ≠ memory card saves – A full memory card save is required for permanent unlocks. Save states alone don’t retain the “clear data” flag.
