Step 3: Licensing and Activation

  2. Go to Audio MIDI Setup (macOS utility). Set your interface as the system default input and output.
  3. In Smaart v9 → Options → Audio Devices:
    • Device Type: Core Audio
    • Output Device: Your interface
    • Input Device: Your interface (can be different from output on Mac, but for transfer function, keep same device)
    • Sample Rate: 48kHz
    • Buffer Size: 128 samples
  4. Click Open Device.

2. Download the Installer

Do not download SMAART from third-party sites.

  1. Go to rationalacoustics.com
  2. Log into your user account (where your license is registered).
  3. Navigate to My Account → My Downloads.
  4. Find SMAART Suite v9 (the latest build number, e.g., v9.1.x).
  5. Download the installer for your OS:
    • Windows: .exe file
    • macOS: .dmg or .pkg file
