Step 4 – Use in any app

Open Zoom, Teams, or OBS → go to Video/Camera settings → select SoftHVSCam as your camera.

Step 3 – Configure

• Set your source:
  • Image file (JPG/PNG)

5. Security & Stability

• Driver signing: The virtual camera filter is test-signed. Windows may show a warning; use with unsigned driver mode or install test certificate.
• Registry changes: Minimal; writes only to HKLM\Software\SoftHVSCam.
• Network streams: Does not enforce TLS for RTSP; recommend using local files or VPN for sensitive content.
• Crash handling: Process isolation prevents app crashes; a watchdog restarts the virtual camera service within 5 seconds.

Prerequisites

• Windows Version: 7, 8, 10, or 11 (Note: On Windows 11, you may need to disable "Memory Integrity" under Core Isolation for the driver to load, as it is unsigned).
• Admin Rights: You must be an administrator on the PC to install the virtual driver.
• Visual C++ Redistributables: You may need the 2010-2013 packages installed.
