Step 4 – Use in any app
Open Zoom, Teams, or OBS → go to Video/Camera settings → select SoftHVSCam as your camera.
Step 3 – Configure

- Set your source:
- Image file (JPG/PNG)
- Video file (MP4/AVI loop)
- IP camera URL (MJPEG)
- Desktop region (screen capture)
- Adjust FPS & resolution (default 640x480 or 1280x720).

5. Security & Stability
- Driver signing: The virtual camera filter is test-signed. Windows may show a warning; use with unsigned driver mode or install test certificate.
- Registry changes: Minimal; writes only to
HKLM\Software\SoftHVSCam.
- Network streams: Does not enforce TLS for RTSP; recommend using local files or VPN for sensitive content.
- Crash handling: Process isolation prevents app crashes; a watchdog restarts the virtual camera service within 5 seconds.
Prerequisites
- Windows Version: 7, 8, 10, or 11 (Note: On Windows 11, you may need to disable "Memory Integrity" under Core Isolation for the driver to load, as it is unsigned).
- Admin Rights: You must be an administrator on the PC to install the virtual driver.
- Visual C++ Redistributables: You may need the 2010-2013 packages installed.
Step 2 – Install
- Extract the ZIP if needed.
- Right-click
