The story of The Traveling Wilburys Collection is a tale of rock 'n' roll’s most accidental and ego-free supergroup. The Accidental Genesis The harmonies on “Handle With Care” are crystal
It began in April 1988, not with a grand vision, but with a simple need for a B-side. George Harrison
needed a track for his European single "This Is Love" and called on his friend and producer Jeff Lynne for help. By chance, the two were joined by Roy Orbison at Dylan's home studio in Malibu.
They wrote and recorded "Handle with Care" in a single afternoon. When Harrison presented it to Warner Bros., the executives realized the track was far too good to be hidden on a B-side. This spark of chemistry led the five legends to record two full albums under the guise of the "Wilbury" brothers—Nelson, Otis, Lefty, Lucky, and Charlie T. Jr.. The Reissue: The Traveling Wilburys Collection
After years of being out of print and unavailable, the Harrison estate finally reissued the group’s work in June 2007 as The Traveling Wilburys Collection
