Phase 1: Preparing the USB Drive

  1. Right-click winsetupfromusb 1.9.exe and select Run as Administrator.
  2. Connect your USB drive. The tool should auto-detect it in the top drop-down box. Double-check the drive letter (e.g., E:, F:). Selecting the wrong drive can wipe your hard disk.
  3. Check the box labeled "Auto format it with FBinst". This prepares the drive for multi-booting. Next to it, select the target format:
    • FAT32: Universal support (best for BIOS + UEFI). File size limit of 4GB per file.
    • NTFS: Supports large files (Windows 10 ISOs over 4GB), but UEFI boot may be tricky.
    • FAT32 (Default) is generally best for compatibility.
